Ilias in the ManiThe house is perfect for families and for big groups. There is much to see and do for all ages within easy distance. Ilias in the Mani sleep up to 18 and is available to rent all year round, not just the summer months of June-September. 

You can rent the entire estate for a spectacular family holiday or for a special occasion such as a 60th birthday or an anniversary. We can help organise catering and put together an itinerary for you. 

There are plenty of things to keep all ages occupied – from biking (we have 14 electric bikes) to relaxing with a book on one of our terraces overlooking the sea and mountains. The house has a boules pitch and a full sized yoga studio and shaded areas around the pool for meals or games. You can walk down through the olive groves for lunch at the lovely seaside village of Kitries or down over the valley for a sun downer at a cocktail bar in Kardamyli. For the young at heart there are bars and dancing on the beach at Santova, 10 minutes drive away and  traditional Greek dancing in the tiny remote mountain villages and for the adventurous there is hangliding over the Taygetos mountains and the Messinian Sea.  We can also organise a masseur to come to the house if there are 4-5 people who would like massages (60 euros an hour – massages take place in our yurt).  For babies we have a high chair, cot and play pen and babysitting can be arranged in advance. 

We can also book a motor boat for you (or two boats if there are a lot of you) which comes complete with a skipper who can take you to hidden coves to swim and snorkel including a beautiful natural sea water pool. You can also motor to local tavernas down the coast such as the well-known Takis’ Fish Restaurant in Limeni, a chic fishing village where you can watch turtles come close to the quayside while you eat or visit the pretty fishing villages of Trahila and Aghios Nikolaos which also have charming tavernas. And we can organise the boat to take you to a quiet beach for your own private picnic. We will need to reserve this in advance. 

Doneka, our cook will be on tap to make you and your family traditional Greek food and Kostas, her husband can cook you all a whole lamb on our traditional stone barbeque (cost of the cook plus food extra). She charges 12 euros per hour plus the cost of the food. We can also make life easier for you by recommending and booking tavernas on your behalf in advance of your arrival as well as organising the menus when you are eating in. We are also happy to recommend and buy wine before you arrive as well as do your food shop so your fridge is fully stocked when you get to us. 

If you are interested in history and sight seeing we can also help put together an itinerary for your holiday of recommended sites within an hour of the house. The spectacular Diros caves, for example, is one of Greece’s most important natural sites and largest series of vast subterranean caverns in Europe stretching 15 km into the rock with beautiful formations of stalactites and stalagmites formed millions of years ago.  You will travel through 2km of waterways by boat taking around an hour. Just 1 km away from the caves is the charming town of Areopolis where the Greek Revolution started and for those interested in ancient history Messene is also just over an hour away.

All the bedrooms have extremely comfortable beds from Coco Mat, one of the world’s leading specialists in natural bedding, consisting of multiple layers of natural materials providing the best possible comfort without the use of metal springs.

Three terraces around the main house, one for the main dining, one overlooking the mountains and one overlooking the sea. Two additional terraces further away from the house with seating with views of the mountains or over the sea with amazing sunset views. Full sized boule pitch. Yoga studio.

Costs

For Rental of the Ilias estate:

£20,000 per week in May, June, July, August, September and October.

These prices do not include flights, transport, food and drink or a cook. Discounts available for bookings of over two weeks.

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total cost of the holiday will be required to confirm the booking and the balance to be paid 8 weeks before arrival. Bookings cannot be rolled over to the next year.
